Our Beliefs

At Oasis City Church, we believe that faith should be rooted in truth and expressed through love. Our beliefs are anchored in the Holy Scriptures, the living Word of God, and reflect the timeless tenets of The Church of Pentecost. These truths shape who we are, how we live, and how we love others. They remind us that the same God who created the world still transforms lives today through the power of the Holy Spirit. We hold to these foundational doctrines not as rituals or traditions, but as a living faith that renews hearts, restores hope, and brings people into relationship with Jesus Christ.

We believe in the divine inspiration and authority of the Holy Scriptures — that the Bible is infallible in its declaration, final in its authority, comprehensive, and all-sufficient in its provisions. (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21).

We believe in the existence of the One True God, Elohim, maker of the whole universe — indefinable but revealed as the Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; one in nature, essence, and attributes. He is Omnipotent, Omnipresent, and Omniscient. (Genesis 1:1, 26; Matthew 3:16–17; 28:19; Deuteronomy 6:4; Psalm 139:7–12; Revelation 19:6).

We believe that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and are subject to eternal condemnation. Humanity needs repentance and regeneration through Jesus Christ. (Genesis 3:1–19; Romans 3:23; Acts 2:38; John 3:3, 5).

We believe humanity’s need for a Saviour is met in the person of Jesus Christ — through His deity, virgin birth, atoning death, resurrection, ascension, and abiding intercession. He will return to judge the living and the dead. (Isaiah 9:6; Matthew 1:21; Acts 2:36; Philippians 2:6–11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–18).

We believe all people must repent and confess their sins before God and believe in the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ for justification. Sanctification comes through the Holy Spirit’s work, leading to eternal life. (Acts 2:38; Romans 5:1; 1 Corinthians 6:11; John 10:27–28).

We believe in baptism by immersion as a public testimony of faith for those who have reached the age of understanding, and in the Lord’s Supper as a sacred communion for all believers in fellowship. (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Luke 22:19–20; 1 Corinthians 11:23–33).

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit for all believers, evidenced by speaking in tongues, and in the operation of spiritual gifts and the fruit of the Spirit in every believer’s life. (Joel 2:28–29; Acts 2:3–4; 1 Corinthians 12:8–11; Galatians 5:22–23).

We believe healing of sickness and disease is provided through Christ’s atonement. However, we also affirm the wisdom of medical care when needed. (Isaiah 53:4–5; Mark 16:17–18; James 5:14–16).

We believe in tithing and giving freewill offerings to support God’s Kingdom. God blesses a cheerful giver. (Genesis 14:18–20; Malachi 3:6–10; 2 Corinthians 9:6–9).

We believe in the second coming of Christ and the resurrection of the dead — the saved to eternal life, and the unsaved to eternal separation. (Daniel 12:2; John 5:28–29; Acts 1:11; Romans 2:7–11).

We believe marriage is a sacred, lifelong covenant between a man and a woman as created by God. Marriage exists for companionship, love, and the godly upbringing of children in the Lord. (Genesis 2:18–25; Matthew 19:4–6; 1 Corinthians 7:1–2).
